
In line with the Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian Customs Authority’s keenness to implement the directives issued by the Prime Minister to develop the customs system, aiming to reduce cargo release time while ensuring effective customs control, and in accordance with the instructions of Mr. Ahmed Amwi, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, a new workshop was held on the (ACI Air) system for air shipments and the Export System on “Nafeza” platform for the International Transport and Logistics Division.
The workshop was organized by the ACI Unit and the Exporters Support Unit at the Egyptian Customs Authority, headed by Mr. Ahmed Al-Askalany, Deputy Head of the Authority, in cooperation and coordination with MTS Company. It targeted the International Transport and Logistics Services Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and was held at the Ministry of Finance headquarters on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Walid Makki, Assistant to the Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority; Mr. Mohamed Asla, Head of the ACI Unit at the Office of the Head of Customs; Mr. Hany Raafat, General Director of Operations at the Cargo Village at Cairo Airport; Mr. Ayman El-Sheikh, Head of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce Logistics Sector and Member of the Supreme Council for Air Freight; Dr. Amr El-Samadouni, Secretary-General of the International Transport and Logistics Services Division; and Mr. Ahmed El-Shahawy, General Director of Exports at Cairo Airport.
Representing MTS were Eng. Khaled Nassef, Official Spokesman and Media Advisor; Mr. Ahmed Mostafa, ACI Project Manager; Ms. Amira, Team Lead of Business Analysis Dep; and Menna Elbana, Marketing and Public Relations Specialist.
The workshop was attended by 40 representatives from member companies of the Chamber of Commerce’s logistics sector.
The session was moderated by Mr. Mohamed Asla, who welcomed the attendees. Eng. Khaled Nassef then delivered a speech thanking participants for attending and presenting an overview of “Nafeza” platform and system. He highlighted the key achievements accomplished since its launch in 2019, supported by figures demonstrating its role in facilitating procedures and enhancing the efficiency of the customs system, noting the significant improvement in performance indicators.
Mr. Ayman El-Sheikh delivered a speech expressing appreciation to the leadership and staff of the Egyptian Customs Authority and MTS Company, commending their efforts and the positive cooperation with “Nafeza” platform and relevant entities in serving the business community and facilitating the movement of goods for importers and exporters. This was followed by remarks from Mr. Hany Raafat, who welcomed attendees and emphasized the role of “Nafeza” platform in developing the customs system and facilitating trade.
Mr. Ahmed Mostafa presented a detailed overview of the (ACI Air) system on “Nafeza” platform. An open discussion followed, during which participants raised questions and inquiries that were addressed by representatives of the Egyptian Customs Authority and MTS.
In the concluding session, Dr. Walid Makki delivered a speech expressing his appreciation to the attendees and to Mr. Ahmed El-Shahawy. This was followed by a presentation by Ms. Amira, who explained the enhanced export procedures cycle to be implemented on “Nafeza” platform.
