Introductory Seminar for the EFEC on the Export System on “Nafeza” Platform

Within the framework of the Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian Customs Authority’s keenness to implement the directives issued by the Prime Minister to develop the customs system aimed at reducing cargo release time while tightening customs control in line with the instructions of Mr. Ahmed Amawi, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, and as part of the key pillars of this strategy, including the development of the export system and increasing Egypt’s export revenues to reach USD 140 billion, the company participated in an introductory seminar on the export system via “Nafeza” platform.

The seminar was organized by the Exporters Support Unit at the Egyptian Customs Authority, headed by Mr. Ahmed Al-Asqalani, Deputy Head of the Authority, in cooperation and coordination with MTS, to present the updated procedures cycle of the export system on “Nafeza” platform to members of the Furniture Export Council, chaired by Mr. Ehab Deryas. The seminar was held at the Ministry of Finance Towers on Monday, January 19, 2026.

The seminar was attended by Mr. Ahmed Al-Asqalani, Deputy Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority; Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud, General Director of Postal Parcels Customs at Cairo Airport; Dr. Walid Mekki, Assistant to the Head of the Authority; Mr. Ahmed Anis, General Director of Technology in the Northern Region; Mr. Amr Abu Al-Nour, CEO of the Exporters Support Unit; Dr. Mahmoud Nour, Director of Logistics Centers Follow-up; Mr. Mohamed Alaa, Director of Export Services and Information at the Council; Eng. Khaled Nassef, Official Spokesman and Media Advisor of MTS; Ms. Amira El-Fateh, Team Lead of Business Analysis Dep and Menna Elbana, Marketing and Public Relations Specialist.

The workshop was attended by more than 25 participants representing 15 companies.

The seminar was opened by Mr. Ahmed Al-Asqalani, who delivered a speech on the development and governance of the customs system and the package of customs facilitation measures, including the new export system on “Nafeza” platform. He presented a detailed overview of the significant developments and improvements in performance, the facilitation of customs procedures, and the reduction of clearance time. He also highlighted the benefits and facilitations provided by the new export system in support of exporters and thanked the attendees for their participation.

This was followed by a speech by Eng. Khaled Nassef, who expressed his appreciation to the attendees for their role as success partners in “Nafeza” project, which has contributed to facilitating trade movement. He also reviewed the most prominent achievements of the “Nafeza” platform since its launch in 2019 to date, highlighting through figures the progress achieved in simplifying procedures and enhancing the efficiency of the customs system, and pointing to the noticeable improvement in performance indicators.

The seminar also included a detailed explanation of the updated export procedures cycle, presented by Ms. Amira, covering the key stages of the electronic export file and how these procedures ensure faster completion, reduce burdens on exporters, and achieve integration among the relevant entities within the customs system. The session witnessed active interaction from attendees, who raised several questions and inquiries that were addressed by officials from the Egyptian Customs Authority and Ms. Amira.

At the conclusion of the seminar, representatives of the Egyptian Customs Authority and MTS affirmed their commitment to maintaining ongoing communication with export councils and to listening to the proposals and feedback of the business community, in support of the state’s efforts to increase export rates and achieve economic development targets.
