
The company accepted an invitation to attend an introductory workshop organized by the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce to present the updated procedures of the export system on “Nafeza” platform to the Chamber’s members on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian Customs Authority’s commitment to implementing the directives issued by the Cabinet to develop the customs system, aiming to reduce customs clearance time while maintaining strict customs control, in line with the directives of Mr. Ahmed Amway, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority. One of the key pillars of this development is upgrading the export system and increasing Egypt’s export revenues to reach 140 billion dollars.
The workshop was attended by Mr. Ahmed El-Shahawy, General Manager of Exports at the Cairo International Airport Cargo Village; Mr. Amr Abu El-Nour, Executive Director of the Exporters and Producers Support Unit at the Egyptian Customs Authority; and Dr. Walid Mekki, Head of the Follow-up and Planning Committee at the Unit.
From MTS, Eng. Khaled Nassef, the official spokesman and media advisor, along with Ms. Amira El-Fateh, Team Lead of Business Analysis Dep, and Menna Elbana Marketing and Public Relations Specialist.
The workshop was attended by around 50 participants from the business community representing more than 50 companies.
The session was moderated by Mr. Ahmed Hisham, Industrial Working Groups Project Manager at the Chamber, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of strengthening communication with the business community and listening to their feedback to ensure the best performance of “Nafeza” system.
Mr. Amr Abu El-Nour opened the session with remarks on the development and governance of the customs system and the package of customs facilitation measures, including the new export system on “Nafeza” platform. He also highlighted the advantages and facilitation measures provided by the new export system for exporters and thanked the attendees for their participation in the workshop.
He was followed by Eng. Khaled Nassef, who expressed his appreciation to the attendees for their role as partners in the success of “Nafeza” project, which has contributed to facilitating trade movement. He then gave the floor to Dr. Walid Makki, who shed light on the export system and the updated procedures on “Nafeza” platform.
The workshop also included a detailed presentation of the updated export procedures cycle delivered by Ms. Amira El-Fateh, where she explained the main stages that the export file goes through electronically. This process ensures faster completion of procedures, reduces burdens on exporters, and achieves integration among the concerned entities within the customs system.
At the end of the workshop, participants raised a number of questions and inquiries, which were addressed by both sides. The session concluded with an emphasis on the continued cooperation between the Egyptian Customs Authority and MTS to advance the digitalization of the customs system and support the business community.
