
As part of the Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian Customs Authority’s commitment to implementing the directives issued by the Cabinet to modernize the customs system, reduce cargo clearance times, and strengthen customs control, in line with the directives of Mr. Ahmed Amwii, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, one of the key priorities has been the development of the export system and increasing Egyptian exports to reach USD 140 billion.
The company participated in an introductory seminar organized by the Exporters Support Unit at the Egyptian Customs Authority, headed by Mr. Ahmed El-Asqalani, Deputy Head of the Authority, in cooperation with MTS, to provide detailed training on the upgraded export procedures cycle on “Nafeza” platform for a group of export council members. The event took place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Ministry of Finance Towers.
The workshop was attended by Mr. Ahmed El-Asqalani, Deputy Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority; Mr. Amr Abou El Nour, Chief Executive Officer; Ms. Rasha Asfour, Director of International Cooperation at the Office of the Head of the Authority and Head of the Communication and Media Committee of the Unit; and Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud, Director of the Technical Office of the Head of the Authority.
Representing MTS were Eng. Khaled Nassef, Official Spokesman and Media Advisor of the company; Ms. Amira El Fattah, Team Lead of Business Analysis Department; Mr. Abdelrahman Gad, Senior Training Specialist; and Mr. Nour El Din Magdy from the Training Department.
The workshop commenced with opening remarks delivered by Mr. Ahmed El-Asqalani, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of this step in supporting the export sector and facilitating customs procedures in alignment with the Customs Authority’s digital transformation strategy. This was followed by remarks from Eng. Khaled Nassef, who highlighted the system operators’ commitment to maintaining continuous communication with the business and export community to overcome any challenges and ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
The workshop also included a comprehensive presentation delivered by Mr. Abdelrahman Gad, who provided a step-by-step overview of the mechanisms of the new export system on “Nafeza” platform. The presentation explained how to use the system and showcased the key features and facilities it offers exporters, contributing to reducing clearance times and accelerating procedures.
The seminar concluded with an open discussion session addressing attendees’ technical and practical inquiries regarding the actual implementation of the new system. Representatives from both the Egyptian Customs Authority and MTS provided detailed responses, reaffirming the system’s readiness to serve the exporting community and support Egypt’s trade and digital transformation objectives.
