Seminar on the Enhanced Export Procedures Cycle on “NAFEZA” Platform for the Home Textiles Export Council

As part of the Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian Customs Authority’s commitment to implementing the directives issued by the Cabinet to develop the customs system aiming to reduce cargo clearance time while strengthening customs control and in line with the mandate to upgrade the export system and increase Egypt’s export revenues to USD 140 billion as directed by Mr. Ahmed Amawy, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, a seminar was held on the enhanced export procedures cycle on “NAFEZA” platform for the Home Textiles Export Council.

The Exporters Support Unit at the Egyptian Customs Authority, headed by Mr. Ahmed Refaat El-Asqalani, Deputy Head of Customs, in cooperation with MTS, organized a specialized seminar to present the enhanced export procedures cycle on “NAFEZA” platform. The event took place on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Ministry of Finance Towers, and was moderated by Mr. Amr Saleh, Executive Director of the Council, as part of the company’s efforts to support exporters and keep pace with the latest developments in the foreign trade system.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Walid Makki, Assistant Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, and Ms. Rasha Mahmoud Asfour, Director of International Cooperation at the Office of the Head of Customs and Head of the Communication and Media Committee at the Unit.

From MTS, participants included Eng. Khaled Nassef, the company’s Official Spokesman and Media Advisor; Eng. Mohamed Khamis, Director of Business Analysis and Export Project Manager; and Ms. Amira Mohamed, Team Lead of Business Analysis Dep.

The seminar welcomed more than 35 participants, representing over 15 companies operating in the home textiles sector.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Amr Saleh, followed by Dr. Walid Makki, who praised the role of “NAFEZA” platform and ongoing digital transformation in advancing the customs system and facilitating trade.

Eng. Mohamed Khamis and Ms. Amira Mohamed presented the key procedures and updates introduced to the export system, aimed at simplifying processes, accelerating transaction completion, and enhancing the efficiency of export operations through“NAFEZA” platform.

The workshop also covered practical steps for using the enhanced system, the challenges exporters may face, and proposed solutions to ensure optimal use of the platform supporting Egypt’s export sector, improving the business environment, and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.

At the end of the seminar, participants raised a number of questions and inquiries regarding the new export system.
